WatsON Safety exists to honour the legacy of Bill Watson AFSM, a respected and passionate advocate for safety within emergency services, and someone whose commitment to protecting others left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him.

Bill was deeply committed to the principle that everyone who serves their community deserves to return home safely. Throughout his career, he championed thoughtful, practical approaches to health and safety that were grounded in real‑world experience rather than theory alone. His influence extended well beyond procedures and policies. It was reflected in the conversations he encouraged, the questions he asked, and the care he showed for the people behind the uniforms.

Those who knew Bill speak of someone who understood that safety is not static. It evolves alongside new risks, new technologies, and new ways of working. He believed strongly in the value of learning, sharing knowledge, and staying curious, particularly in complex and high‑risk environments.

WatsON Safety was created in Bill’s memory to continue the conversations he cared deeply about. These are conversations that are honest, practical, and focused on making a genuine difference.
